I got a very nice surprise last week. I opened up my email to find an invitation to become an official RootsTech 2012 blogger! I think you could hear me squeal clear to the Salt Lake. Never mind that I work in a library, who could remain quiet in the face of such momentous news? I thought about it for all of … oh, a second and a half …. and emailed back an enthusiastic yes!
I am going to RootsTech! I must say it helps take the sting out of missing out on all the fun at the Federation of Genealogical Societies conference this week.
But what is RootsTech, you say? It’s a conference designed to bring technologists and genealogists together for 3 days of collaboration, presentations and general family history and technology awesomeness. It takes place Feb. 2-4, 2012, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City. Early bird registration opened today, Sept. 7. Leave a comment if you’re planning on going and we’ll arrange a meetup! As we say in Oklahoma, this is gonna be the most fun you can have with your boots on!
Polish up your genealogy skills with Family Tree University courses! Courses starting Sept. 12 include Land Records 101: Using Deeds, Plats and More, Irish Research 101, Discovering Your Czech and Slovak Roots and more. View the course schedule and register here.
